Trash is the most common and pervasive mess type in House Flipper, appearing in virtually every neglected property the player is asked to renovate. It encompasses abandoned household items, food packaging, general debris, and the accumulated detritus of everyday living that previous occupants left behind. Removing trash is always among the first tasks on any renovation job, as it obscures the property's actual condition and prevents accurate assessment of what cleaning and structural work is genuinely needed.

The Clean Tool is the primary instrument for removing most types of trash, with the Vacuum handling smaller particulate waste and the Move Objects Tool needed to relocate or discard larger unwanted items. Players who develop the Cleaning skill tree reduce the time required to clear trash significantly, with higher skill levels allowing faster collection and bonus coins for achieving completely trash-free zones within a property. Thorough trash removal is a prerequisite for achieving meaningful satisfaction scores in any room.

Trash removal serves as an important early indicator of a property's overall renovation challenge level. Properties with extremely high trash density typically also have other significant mess types and structural damage requiring attention. Experienced players use the density and type of trash visible during initial property walkthrough to estimate total renovation effort and set appropriate renovation budgets before committing to the full scope of work.
